HABITAT #

Photos
These images are part of long–term project calling Habitat #. I explore the footprint of human being, his passage and his history.
Fascinated by abandoned buildings remains, I always questioned in front of these buildings "witnesses" and seems frozen in time: what were the occupants, what story tell these walls, what is the memory in this places? Abandonment, migration, economic transition, climate change. Story is behind these walls. Sometimes, nature regain its place. No one is invited to pass through. We stay back to create our own history with the elements.
This work focuses on the cultural and architectural heritage, and transformations marked by life assault. It is presented as a non-exhaustive inventory list, before the story of these walls disappear. Working in an anthropological way, I try to highlight the link between men and the territory, forming part of the collective memory.
This project was carried out between 2007 and 2014 in French Guiana, France, Quebec and California.
